If you were able to snatch some of the New Horizons DSP before it just sold out, you were lucky! It was breathtakingly beautiful and paired perfectly with the Grove dies to create the stage for anything you wish to feature- in this case, a cabin. 

  

Stampsets Used:
Peaceful Cabin (retired from the Jul-Dec 2021)

Inspiring Canopy (retired from the Annual 21-22 catalog)

Paper Used:

New Horizons DSP

Evening Evergreen

Soft Sea Foam

Ink:

Evening Evergreen

Soft Suede

• Cut the variegated green 6x6 inch DSP into two pieces. (You will only use one.)

Use the Grove Dies to cut the tree canopy. Place it as shown so that you cut just to the bottom of the trees.

• Cut the piece to 5½" wide by shaving ¼" off of each side.

• Use whichever landscape scene from the New Horizons DSP you wish to use in the background. This one works well with my cabin scene.  Cut it to 5½" x 4".

• Darken the bark of the trees using a Stampin' Blend (as shown) or whatever you have on hand.

• Stamp the cabin from Peaceful Cabin in Soft Suede on Basic White scrap cardstock.

• Use a Stampin' Blend marker (or whatever you have on hand) to color in the roof then use a Blender Pen to spread the Soft Suede.

• Use the leaf dies from Inspiring Canopy to cut "bushes" out of scrap pieces of the variegated green DSP.

• Let's assemble!!!  Adhere the tree canopy to the background DSP - only adhere on top and sides--- do not glue down the tree trunks yet!!!

• After trimming you cabin, situate it amongst the trees as desired.

• See the white around your cabin? Use Stampin' Blends to add color around the roof and porch. Don't worry about the bottom as it will be covered. Once colored, then you can adhere it.

• Now you can adhere the tree trunks, then use those bushes to cover the bottom of the cabin and the tree trunks. Cut off any bushes that overlap the background paper.  Then adhere the cardfront to your Evening Evergreen cardbase.

• Now stamp your sentiment in Evening Evergreen on Soft Sea Foam cardstock and add to the lower portion of the card. Add some Rustic Metallic dots.

That's it!!  Looks hard but it is really simple. Just let the paper and dies do all the work.

As demonstrators, we come across a lot of stampsets and dies and quite honestly, we just can't keep them all. So when they retire, they get sold. But the Peaceful Cabin has a special place in my heart. We moved into our "peaceful cabin" almost a year ago and absolutely love it!

Quick. Simple. Done.

My husband is doing a vendor event for teachers and wanted a sweet giveaway to entice them to stop at his booth.  Since his business allows me to do what I do (stamp, stamp, and stamp), I knew I could (should) pretty them up, but needed to keep it simple since I had to do 100 in a day.  

And so, the star of the show.... Nothing's Better Than stampset which appears in the annual catalog for just $22.  

Like I said, quick, simple and done.  So here is how to make it.

• Cut Balmy Blue cardstock (or whatever color works for your school colors) to 2¼" x 5½" (for Hershey bar). 
• Stamp "chocolate" in Soft Suede ink at an angle.
• Stamp the other wording in Starry Sky ink.
• Wrap it around your candy bar and adhere using Stampin Seal +.

Seriously!  Quick. Simple. Done.

These make such great gifts for teachers, co-workers, and those in the service industry.  What better way to spread some happiness?

Happy Housewarming

 

This card has been in my head for a while.  The Feels Like Home stampset was a freebie in a previous Sale-A-Bration and has been sitting on my shelf...staring at me... whispering to me.  I finally discovered the Best Chapter stampset with the "Happy Housewarming" stamp in it. If you want it, you will have to get it on a retired sale site after 5/3/2022!  Add to that the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder, and there you have it.  This card just HAD to happen.

So, here is how it happened.

• Cut your Basic Grey cardstock to  8½" x 5½", score at 4¼".  Now, use your trimmer to cut in 1½" on each side-ONLY UP TO THE SCORE LINE!  It should look like this.

• Take your Brick and Mortar embossing folder and put only the end flaps into it.  I know we always say to put the embossing folders into your machine "hinge-first" but not this time.  You are living dangerously.... a real rebel.
• 

• Cut Basic White to 2¼" x 4".  Stamp the door image from Feels Like Home in Memento Black so that the door is centered. Color as you wish with Stampin' Blends. 

 Cut Real Red cardstock to 2⅜" x 4⅛".  Adhere your Basic White to the Real Red.  Then adhere them to the middle panel of your card.

Using the white wood DSP from Heart and Home, cut a piece with the largest scalloped rectangle die from Stitched So Sweetly dies.  Then cut it to about 1 inch.  Stamp "Happy Housewarming" from Best Chapter stampset in Real Red. Adhere to the top of the two side panels with dimensionals- do not stick it to the middle panel.

• Cut two pieces from the "planked" wood DSP from Heart and Home.  They should be 1" x 5½". Adhere them together so that the wood grain is showing on both sides.  Then adhere it behind the two end panels along the bottom of your card.
• Cut the "welcome mat" using the smallest scalloped rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Use whatever DSP you prefer (I used Heart and Home). Stamp "welcome" in Black Memento using the Welcoming Window stampset. Then adhere to the middle of the wood DSP strip. 
  
  
  
• Stamp and die cut the flower pot and flowers using Welcoming Window stampset and dies. Adhere the flowers with dimensionals.

• Cut the inside Basic White to 3½" x 4¾".  The wording used was from an old retired stampset called Barn Door and the little flowerpot stamp is from Feels Like Home.

Now that I have made this, there are many other variations swimming around in my head - a log home, a home with siding, an apartment building.  If only I could stamp 24/7.

Directions:

• Cut the Old Olive to 4¼" x 7", scored at 1½". Cut another piece of Old Olive 4¼" x 1½".

• Cut two pieces of the DSP (patterned paper) to 4" x 1¼".  Adhere to the top of the cardfront and the additional piece of Old Olive.

• Use the largest scalloped rectangle to cut the Basic White cardstock.  Stamp the daffodil bouquet using Memento Black ink onto the diecut. Stamp the single daffodil in Black ink onto a scrap piece of Basic White.

Did you see my stray black line?? It's okay, you won't see it.

• Use the die to cut out the single daffodil.
  

• Use Stampin' Blends in Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green to color the flowers.

• Cut the Gorgeous Grape to 3¼" x 4¼". Adhere the scalloped rectangle to it in the center. Then place glue tape at the top and bottom only.

• Place the smaller Olive Green piece aligned with the bottom of the card.  Then adhere the  Gorgeous Grape piece to catch the top and bottom pieces, making a bridge.

• Use dimensionals to add the single daffodil. 

• Add the bow with a glue dot.
• Use the smallest scalloped rectangle to cut the So Saffron. Then stamp your sentiment in Memento Black. Adhere with dimensionals.

• Add Brushed Brass Butterflies and add Wink of Stella to your single daffodil.
• Cut Basic White to 2⅞" x 5".  Stamp the small butterfly in Gorgeous Grape as shown and adhere to the inside of the card (should not be visible when the card is closed.)  Also stamp your envelope - THERE ARE NO NAKED ENVELOPES!!

Speaking of "Sweet as a Peach," did you hear I became a "Memaw"?  Look at this little "peach"! That is why I was a little late in adding my blog to the hop.  

                                                            

I could hold her forever.... but we need to make a card!!

Here are some easy-to-follow directions to make your own.

Items needed:

Sweet as a Peach stampset

Layering Circle dies

Hive 3D embossing folder

Heart and Home DSP

Cardstock: Night of Navy, Cajun Craze, Basic White

Inks: Memento Black, Pale Papaya, Old Olive

• Cut Night of Navy to 8½" x 5½", score at 4¼" for cardbase.
• Cut Night of Navy to 4" x 5¼" then run thought the embossing machine with the Hive 3D folder.
• Adhere the embossed panel to the cardbase.
• Cut 3 DSP pieces to 2" x 3", then adhere to the cardfront. 
• Using the Layering Circle dies, cut a small circle (2⅛") from Basic White.
•  On the white circle, stamp the peach in Pale Papaya, the stem/leaf in Old Olive. Stamp the sentiment in Memento Black.
• Cut the scalloped circle (2½") from the Cajun Craze cardstock.
• Adhere the stamped Basic White circle to the Cajun Craze circle, then adhere it to the cardfront using dimensionals.
•  Apply the bee with a glue dot.

Celebrate Sunflowers Shadow Box

 

With so much heartache going on in the world, sometimes we need a reminder to look towards the light.  This quote from Helen Keller is so fitting and the Celebrate Sunflowers stamps are the perfect companion. I wanted to show you how I layered the sunflower for that 3D effect!

• Stamp two sunflowers in Cajun Craze on Basic White cardstock. 
• Color them with Stampin' Blends as you choose.
• Die cut both sunflowers.

• Take one sunflower and cut away the "back" petals.

• Adhere the full sunflower to your background using dimensionals.
• Take the cut sunflower and bend the petals backwards.
• Add glue to the middle and stack dimensionals on the petals as shown.

• Adhere to the top of the full sunflower.  Voila!!! (Don't tell your friends how easy it was.... let them think you are an artist!!)
