My Mom's Welcoming Window

Window Flower Box Dies
Mother's Day will be here in 3 weeks... 3 weeks!!!!  Wow, time sure does fly.  I'm not panicking...are you panicking?  I spent the day making cards in preparation for the upcoming holiday and this one quickly became my favorite!!   The stamps and dies made this super easy!!

Items needed:

  • Welcoming Window stamps
  • Window Flower Box dies
  • Inks: Smoky Slate, Garden Green, Fresh Freesia (new color)
  • Cardstock: Smoky Slate, Cinnamon Cider, Basic Black, Basic White, DSP for curtain( I used Oh So Ombre)

  1. Cut the Smoky Slate to 8½ x 5½, scoring it at 4¼. This will be your card base.
  2. Cut Basic White to 5¼ x 4.
  3. Stamp the bricks using Smoky Slate ink.  You can stamp off to make some lighter, if preferred. There are no rules, just have fun.
  4. Use the "wooden" window, shutters and flower box dies to cut from the Cinnamon Cider cardstock.
  5. Cut the iron decorations from the Basic Black.
  6. Pick the paper you want to be your "curtain."  Cut the width to match the width of the window.  You can cut the scalloped edge by hand or you can use the edge die from the Prized Peony Suite if you have it.
  7. Stamp the greenery in Garden Green, then stamp the flowers in Fresh Freesia.  Repeat.  Cut the two flower arrangements using the coordinating die cut.
  8. Assemble your card as shown above but be sure to glue your curtain BEHIND your window first.  Don't ask... it was a long day.  Use dimensionals behind your flowers.
  9. You can handwrite the "mom."  I found this from a Paper Pumpkin stampset I had laying around.  Say what??? You don't know what Paper Pumpkin is???  It is the easiest and inexpensive way to build up your stamps and inks when you are just starting out.  More info below!!
